Ian Simpson-Eyre, RVN - Deputy Head Nurse - Joined 1996
Ian has a BVNA certificate in small animal dentistry, an increasingly important field of companion animal preventative medicine. He is very pro-active about his job and tends to be our first port-of-call with technical problems. He also has an interest in wound management. In June 2011 Ian attended a clincical coach meeting enabling him to "mentor" our veterinary nursing students.Out of work he has 2 daughters who keep him very busy, he has an interest in all things automotive and an allotment. He is also very useful for lifting giant dogs when we need him!
Cara Calver-Perkins, RVN - Deputy Head Nurse - Joined 1999
Cara is passionate about her work as a nurse and is conscientious and efficient. Her species knowledge extends to backyard poultry. She is a qualified Nutritional Adviser and runs clinics for diet advice, as well as other nursing clinics run by the Practice and Puppy Parties. She has an interest in animal behaviour and is currently studying with the BVNA and will soon be offering behavioural advice during consultations. Cara dedicates time to help raise money and promote the charities connected to the practice, especially the Cats Protection, and any events such as the Christmas Lights celebration in the shop are conducted with her direction! Outside of work Cara enjoys the outdoors and bushcrafting and spending time with her two rescue dogs Nell and Tula.
Katy Taylor, RVN Joined 2003
Katy has been with us for 9 years. Throughout her time working for us, she has qualified as a Nutritional adviser and also as an A1 Assessor, enabling her to take responsibility for training our veterinary nursing students and helping them complete their portfolios. We are pleased that Katy is now back with us part-time following the birth of her daughter.
Nichola Kosylo, RVN Joined 2002
Nichola joined the team in 2002 and qualified as a nurse in 2006. She takes a particular interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation and caring for the geriatric patient. We are very thankful that she assists with the large job of processing the insurance forms. Outside of work Nichola's time is spent caring for her own lovable pets (including Heidi the Westie), horse riding and swimming. Nichola has recently returned part-time following the birth of her twin boys.
Linzi Furniss, RVN Joined 2006
Linzi started her training in 1999 and qualified in 2001, working in Southport, Merseyside. She has been with us for five years and developed an interest in nutrition, running diet clinics with Cara and Katy. Her hobbies include motorcycle racing (as a spectator), cooking and crafts. She is very creative and her cakes are excellent. Linzi is currently on maternity leave and we wish her well.
Louise Payton, RVN Joined 2008
Louise qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2010. She studied at Nottingham Trent University, Brackenhurst Complex and graduated with a FdSc in veterinary nursing, being awarded the "Top Student Award" for her exceptional results in her final year. Following qualification Louise has done further training to become a Clinical Coach which enables her to "mentor" our veterinary nursing students. In her spare time she enjoys nights out socializing with her friends. She also has a cat called Millie.
Lyndsey Needs, RVN Joined 2008
Lyndsey joined the practice in the July of 2008, after completing work experience with us during her BTEC in animal management. She has since studied to become a qualified Veterinary Nurse and has recently passed her final examinations. At home she has 2 cats Kacy and Karen, one of which she adopted from www.nottingham.cats.org.uk. Karen was diagnosed with kidney disease so she needs a little extra TLC. She enjoys all aspects of the job especially caring for our critical care feline patients. In her spare time she spends most weekends socializing with her friends, going to the cinema and eating way too much junk food.
Felicity Pickup, RVN Joined 2009
Fi graduated from Nottingham Trent University in July 2011 with a FdSc in Veterinary Nursing. One of her favourite parts of the job is helping to run the puppy parties and meeting new clients. She also enjoys looking after the in-patients and has an interest in all wildlife. She has successfully hand reared a hedgehog who is now enjoying life in the wild. Outside of work she has a Birman cat called Moses and a Siberian cat called Mousie. She also has a rescue ferret called Lillie from http://brinsleyanimalrescue.org . In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and has recently found a new hobby in rock climbing.
Amy Greenwood, TVN Joined 2009
Amy is currently in the 2nd year of her VN Training. She has shown an interest in anaesthesia. Out of work she is a keen horse rider with a BHS stage 1 and 2 in riding and road safety and has also completed a BTEC national diploma in horse management. She has 3 cats all of which she rescued from www.nottingham.cats.org.uk
Rachel Chambers, TVN (Placement started Feb 2011)

Rachel is currently studying for her 1st year Veterinary Nursing Exams at the Nottingham Trent University and is due to qualify in the summer of 2013. Whilst working towards her degree, Rachel is in placement with us through the following 2 years. She has 3 cats, 2 of which were adopted from our local Cats Protection shelter. Outside of work she enjoys snowboarding and regularly attends a boxercise class.
Sarah Hind TVN Joined August 2011 
Sarah joined us in August 2011, after completing an FDSc in sports horse management and training, and a BSc (Hons) in Equine sports science at Nottingham Trent University. She is in the first year of Veterinary Nurse training. Sarah is a keen equestrian and enters her horse into lots of events with great success.
